Arleen Garza had established a thriving career in the financial services sector, achieving the title of SVP, before embarking on a commercial real estate venture. In between those two phases of Garza’s professional life, she established a consulting business through which she worked together with entrepreneurs in developing marketing strategies and human resource strategies to achieve accelerated growth. Arguably, she brought those insights to bear in co-founding REEP Equity in 2012.
Garza and her husband Jacob began with a small 24-unit property which they owned and managed. They have now sponsored a total of 12 multifamily acquisitions, taking four properties full cycle with total returns as high as 370%.
Currently, the REEP multifamily portfolio consists of 2,621 units as a deal sponsor and passive investor in San Antonio, Atlanta, Dallas, Jacksonville and Houston.
These are just some of the reasons we chose Garza as one of the 2018 Women in Real Estate Award winners. Connect Media’s Women in Real Estate Awards honor the achievements and inspirational stories of women who have reached respected positions of leadership and play key mentorship roles for others.
Garza oversees the operational aspects of REEP’s multifamily portfolio, along with serving as a decision-maker on acquisitions and company growth strategy. In overseeing the management company, REEP Management, her goal is to maximize investor returns by increasing revenue, while controlling expenses for the properties under the REEP ownership umbrella.
